Welcome to National American University's School of Nursing Orientation!

NAU's School of Nursing orientation has been developed to help you become familiar with the nursing school learning environment. At the end of this orientation you will be required to take a short quiz to test your knowledge. You will also become familiar with important policies and procedures that will be relevant to you as a nursing student.

We would like to congratulate you on your decision to continue your education! Although the task may seem daunting, we are here to offer our continuous support throughout your journey to graduation.

As a student enrolled in the nursing program at National American University, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

I am willing to take responsibility for my own learning and to participate collaboratively with the fellow students.
I understand that nursing courses are demanding and that I will be required to set aside blocks of time for concentrated study.
I acknowledge that to complete a 4.5 credit course, a minimum of ten hours of study time per week should be invested.
Study time should be increased according to the total number of courses taken in a given term.
I agree to set a realistic schedule for completion of my course work that provides adequate time for unexpected delays, and then to work hard to see that various deadlines are met.
I agree to maintain close communication with my instructor concerning course work and overall learning objectives.
